The hands, which are six metres high, appeared to be waiting for something… and today, we can reveal to you that that something is Nikon’s ground-breaking new camera system, the Nikon 1!

As of this morning, the six metre high hands are now cradling a super-sized replica of the Nikon J1, announced earlier today.

Boasting never-before-seen features and designed to bring your photos to life, it will help you to capture images you didn’t think possible.

Over the coming days we’ll be taking a closer look at some of the distinguishing features of the Nikon 1, so make sure you check back for more information!

To see how these spectacular hands were created, why not have a look at the time lapse and making of videos posted on thebighands.com.

Perhaps if Nikon had hinted at a model of this type I would not have bought an Olympus PL1
